It don´t stop, want stop!
I like to add a few more points about the terrible living conditions here at Terrell.
Urinalysis Test (piss test): Randomly we are
chosen (for the most part) to go take a piss test.
I, myself doesn´t have no problem with it
because I don´t use drugs. But I often
questions myself, just how accurate are these test.
Knowing that it is possiblity that, I can go take
the test and my urine would come up dirty. Maybe
stimulation from a faulty test or just breathing.
This place has poor ventalation, very poor, and one
many cells down from yours could be doing wrong,
and it´ll enter your cell and smell it than
you´ll end up dirty. Or an officer passes by
your cell and smell it then you´ll end up
dirty. Or an officer passes by your cell and smell
it as the scent isn´t no longer infront of
the one who was doing wrong cell. So then you is
under suspicion, you is ask to take a piss test.
Your cell is torn all up for nothing. If you ends
up being dirty, you will be punish (level 2 or
level 3) having nothing over a long period of time.
And when in reality you hasn´t done nothing.
You can refuse to take the test, but again if you
do, you will be punish (level 2 or 3). I believe it
is wrong to piss test with no evidence and for
someone to be punish for nothing.
It don´t stop, want stop!
Hand washing: Many officers shakes an inmate
down coming out of a cell, recreation area, shower
etc. And they will touch all on people socks,
drawls, T-shirts, clothes. They touches people
hands and has to put a hand on someone when
escorting them somewhere. The officers also goes to
the restroom, picks at their nose, sneezes, messes
with their hair, touch a trash can from time to
time. Many of them also have sores, blisters and
cuts on their hands. All exept for going to the
restroom we has seen or sees those things
happening. Many of these same officers has to put
spoons (for the most part into the main course of
food) on our trays and feed us (pass out trays and
juice/tea). And when we ask them to wash they hands
they is very quick to get an attitude, tells us to
shut up, maybe curses at us, tell us they hands are
clean, they haven´t done nothing,
haven´t touch nothing, want be touching
nothing but our trays, etc. etc. We are grown men,
and isn´t just going to stand to be talked
all crazy to for the most part, so we ask for a
supervisor. The officers that working the cell
block often refuses to call or go get a ranking
officer, so we often has to shout, stump, beat or
by any means necessary to get a sergeant,
lieutenant, or someone who is above them, down here
to address the problem and by this time, go get
some new trays. When this happen, often we goes
without eating because often a ranking officer
never comes. Then we, with a little something will
compensate for the ones would been and contaminated
the trays, not everyone turns it down, for do care,
just like many others here. And I believes that by
these officers refusing to wash theirs hands before
messing with the food is very unsanitary. Also lets
me know what type of person they are and wonders
what does they do after taking a shit.
It don´t stop, want stop!
Weather: We are allowed to rec. for 1 hour
seven days a week alone. Two days out of the 7 a
week, we are to go outside. In the summertime here
in Texas it gets scorching hot and at 100 degree
plus tempertures, it is too hot and dangerous for
anyone to be out running around in the sun. And
these folks know that but we still has to go out or
no recreation at all. In the winter time here in
Texas it don´t get very cold like most
places. But at times it does get could and below 40
degree temperatures (and raining at times) it stoo
cold for people to be out. But it´s the same
with the heat, you either go rec. out there or not
at all. Now we has seen these folks close down the
outside rec. for a month to make it more secure
(reason that benefit them). But when it comes to
our benefits, they don´t give a damn.
Everyone body reacts different to the heat and the
cold, some can take it, some can´t. And with
such a poor medical care or attention they gives us
when we gets sick, I believes these folks
shouldn´t try and make us go outside on bad
days and then refuse our rec. because it´s to
cold or hot. There are many other means they can
compensate our recreation with it being too hot or
too cold.
It don´t stop, want stop!
And it want stop, cause it don´t stop for the terrible living conditions, abuse and inhumane treatments here at Terrell, but I will, here for now. Hopefully someone, some way, some how, on the outside this stuff will be address to the prison officals or someone about all the things we are all constantly writing and telling folks that is wrong or happening with us or this place. And us here for the most, will continue try to do what we can from the inside..
Thank you for your time.
